The Butler County Law Library Association also known as the John F. Holcomb Butler County Law Library is located in the historic Robinson/Schwenn building. This not-for-profit corporation has been serving attorneys, judges, county officials, area law enforcement staff and other county, municipal and township officers since 1889. The Library is well equipped with necessary research materials such as, internet, CD-ROM, online databases, print and other sources.

The Lane Public Library System is the oldest public library west of the Alleghenies since 1866. The 25,000 square foot building provides direct services and currently houses several library administration Departments as well as the Circulation, Information, Teen, and Children's Departments and a History Room. The library has a collection of more than 123,000 books and offers the community access to videos, DVDs, CDs, CD- ROMs, puppets, audio books and e-Books. Another popular resource that the library offers is the Fast Lane drive-thru window.

The Fairfield Lane Library is one of the newest library’s within the County it made itself public on September 1, 2001 and is 25, 000 square feet. The Fairfield Branch has a Teen Zone where teens can read, surf the Internet or watch TV. It also hosts the bright and colorful Children's Department with a 40 foot ceiling filled with stars. There are numerous computers available for searching the library catalog, surfing the Internet, or word processing. The business area will provide users with a typewriter, photocopiers and other supplies. In addition, the magazine collection n boasts a collection of 300 subscriptions and Newspapers have increased to 25 subscriptions

The Oxford Lane Library is a 14,000 square foot building that has over one hundred thousand current books, magazines, videos, and audio CD's are available for browsing and borrowing. This Library provides space for relaxed reading, conferring with Information Services staff, and exploring the topic of your choice on the Internet. The Cullen Meeting Room is the site for an ongoing series of author visits, concerts, story times, lectures, and book discussions for both adults and children. The ClassAct Gallery and a puppet stage for impromptu shows add to the fun.
