Butler County is home to 3 major Colleges and one sub University located in Europe: The Miami University Hamilton, The Miami University Middleton, Miami University of Ohio, and, John E. Dolibois European Campus (Luxembourg).

The Miami University Hamilton currently enrolls 3,400 students with an average age of 24 years old. The public four year College offers 100 bachelor's degree programs with big university advantages and small campus comfort setting. Students can earn a certificate, an associate's degree and/or begin coursework toward a bachelor's degree at Miami's Oxford campus or another four-year institution. Four-year bachelor's degree programs in engineering technology and nursing are offered as well. Courses are offered during the day, late afternoon, evening, on Saturday, and at off-site locations through their Extended University.

Miami University,Middletown is situated on 141 wooded acres and conveniently located two miles off I-75. It is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and currently hosts 2700 undergraduate students and 300 graduate students. As a commuter campus Miami Middletown offers certificate programs, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, beginning course work for most four-year degrees, and graduate courses in Business and Education. The campus features state-of-the-art educational equipment and extensive libraries, computing centers, sports and recreational facilities, and auditoriums.

John E. Dolibois European Campus (Luxembourg) center has grown to 125-135 students per semester. In September of 1997, Dr. Stiller the faculty, staff, and student body moved to a genuine medieval castle in the city of Differdange. This compass concentrates on the following fields of education: The arts, Science, Social Science, International Business, Humanities, Research, and Engineering. It will like to be noted that this University forms part of the Miami University located in Oxford.
